Refuse To Be a Victim

I offer this as a reminder to our pro-gun commenters who continually tell us how bad they've got it.  As gun-rights advocates they are maligned in the liberal media, they're harassed by the police for carrying guns openly and otherwise exercising their god-given, basic-human and Constitutionally-protected rights.  Their precious 2nd Amendment is infringed upon left and right and with the blessing of Justice Scalia, no less.

As if whistling in the dark to keep their spirits up, they insist on their ability to fight off tyranny in the near future, should it become necessary. Secretly they know they'd be crushed by government drones which would zero right in on their homes - they know where you live.

I worry because as gun owners they are in much higher risk than others of suicide and other devastating misuses of their weapons. Constantly trying to convince people about how persecuted they are as a group can easily lead to clinical depression or uncontrollable rage. They're walking time bombs, except for Kurt, of course.

Cheer up, guys.  Refuse to be a victim.

  1. You want us to be licensed, registered, and insured, but here you are, once again practicing psychology without a license or even any training. Mikeb, a good rule of warfare is to know your enemy. The fact that you stubbornly refuse to understand who we are is one of the many reasons why you and your side continually lose.

Keep fantasizing about our deaths--get your happiness where you can.

    1. No, you're the one who does that, Kurt. It's your fantasy to corageously fight the government to the death.

  3. Ah, yes. It's beyond the pale for me to call you thin skinned, but it's fine for you to call me a liar, mentally unstable, delusional, and a ticking time bomb that will either explode in suicide or a mass killing.

    1. And don't forget "victim." I call you a self-proclaimed victim, too.

I really which you would stop whining about the commenting policy. It is what it is. Accept it.

    2. Then how about not boasting that you follow your own rules, Mikeb? Be honest. You feel free to act like a petulant child toward all of us, but we have to be the rational adults in the room.

Of course, I don't have a problem with that. It just goes to show our relative merits.

    3. You instituted it by whining that I wasn't nice enough. I'm just pointing out hypocrisy in it.

As for the moderation itself, as I've said before, there might be more animated discussion if there wasn't a delay in posting comments. As for insults, if people think they're deserved, they'll agree with them. If they thing they're not deserved, then they'll turn them away from the person hurling the insult.
